A “scrappy” organization might not have everything it needs, ideally. It might not follow the established pattern for success. But it will make a way anyway.
The Church begins its ministry in mess and uncertainty because that’s exactly where we practice our ministry. Among mess and uncertainty. They are the very conditions in which we must become Church.
My lament is not about the sound of guitars, drum kits, and talented musicians offering their best worship gifts to God. My lament is for small congregations that have turned praise bands into golden calves.
